Head Start lead teacher Cindy Rollins is a success story.
She started out as a Head Start parent with her own children enrolled in the Sequatchie Valley Head Start program which serves about 400 children over a five-county area. She served as a volunteer; was hired on as a cook; became a bus driver; tried her hand at teaching as an assistant teacher; and was so good at it that she was promoted to teacher.
At the same time she raised her family and taught other children in Head Start, she continued her education. Just recently, she received a degree in Early Childhood Education from Chattanooga State Technical Community College. Today she is a Head Start lead teacher.
