I wanted to get a toy for my 24th birthday. My favorite car (even today) is the Mclaren F1. It's beautiful and very fast - top speed is 230mph, I think.
The Mclaren F1 has 3 seats and the driver sits in the middle - this is so they get the same perspective while approaching right or left turns.
For my birthday, my friend Melissa threw me a party. I think it was going to be a surprise, but she was having trouble planning it, so she asked me to help. I was so flattered that someone would make such a fuss about me. If you really want to show someone you care, I highly suggest throwing them a birthday party. Thank you, Melissa . . it meant a lot to me :)

Lindsay is a dear friend of mine. She and Melissa helped organize a going-away dinner when I moved from San Francisco later that year.

My roommate Caramanza helped make one of my favorite dinners, chicken parmigiana. He was worried that I didn't like it, but I did! I just wasn't that hungry :)
Melissa's coffee table still needed glass. Rob didn't know this and tried to set his plate on top.
All that week I had shown people the remote-control Mclaren that I found on eBay. It was beautiful - red, white and blue. I decided to get it for my birthday. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of that car. It didn't work anyway - word to the wise: don't buy used remote-control cars. There's a good chance they've been crashed.
Remember that picture of Lindsay bringing in the birthday cake? Take a look (and notice the '77 on top, the pinwheel tires and the Chex taillights). A lot of love went into that cake.
