I rented a car with 3 other english speaking tourists and we drove from Bangkok to Tak, then south on Death Highway to Um Phang. Here are some pics....
The Mickeydeez is in Bangkok, in the Pat Pong district. There is lots of good entertainment there, like pingpong shows and darts. I actually got hit by a dart in the back of the head, and remarkably, it didn't hurt very bad at all. They must be really light. They still are able to pop the balloons, though.
The waterfall is called "Thee Lor Su" which means "Water Fall Big" in the Karen language, spoken by the ethnic group of the same name who are mostly refugees from Burma and live in UNESCO sponsored villages along the Burmese border of Thailand. We all jumped into it - it is only about 20 feet high. During the wet season this set of falls is totally amazing (i believe).
The karaoke bar is under the only internet cafe in Um Phang. The night we were there, a fight broke out between a woman and a dude who was passed out at a table next to us. The girl's friend raised a chair behind her back, but I prevented her by holding it down. Then it looked like things were calming down. The funny thing was, the owner was watching this the whole time, and not doing a damn thing. I think if he kicks someone out of his bar he loses face or something. In the meantime a table got flipped over and then the girl broke a beer bottle against a different table that was still standing. That's when I decided to jet....
