craigslist

by Josh Wilcoxson

So you meet some real characters on the nyc craigslist.  The following are some of the best email responses I got when i tried to sell my razr for $200, and my psp for $215.  First on the razr:

$160 cash right now.

Vic

I'm sure I wrote him something along the lines of "No" to which he responded,

Josh, I can only offer you what I have. I was not looking to buy a phone
tonight but I saw yours and I inquired about it. If I had the $180 I would
gladly do it but don't have it. Look at it this way. I am a PC tech that
work for MLB.COM, you never know when you may wanna go to a game and I can
get you in free or maybe fix your pc free.
You will be making a loyal friend

Vic

If you don't have the money, why do you want a $200 cell phone?  Particularly one with no PDA function...  And I must have failed to mention in my first reply that I hate baseball, particularly in new york.

When I sold my PSP, the responses became downright bizarre.  Keep in mind I specifically said in the ad I was not interested in trades:

I wanted to set up a bidding war between Florance and this other interested person who emailed me later that evening:

I don't like to believe people use craigslist to phish for emails, so I can only assume jessica and florance were identical twins who were each shopping for a birthday present for the other.

"Nice. I like the "No way, Jose!" I mean, how often do you get to use that in real life? Did you actually respond to him with that? He probably gets it all the time . ."

"Hmm, maybe Jessica and Florance suffer from a split personality disorder. That's the story line on One Life to Live. Good Jess/Bad Tess and (her/their?) mother Good Vickie/Bad Nicky are "disintegrating" again. Bad Tess now has her twin locked in a soundproof basement. Craig's List sounds like something else I might like. Maybe I'll start by listing some of Michael's stuff."
