April 16 "A restful night in the woods"
This was my route (route numbers in parentheses):
day. The map showed a forested region between Bar Le Duc and St. Dizier that was close to half-way inbetween Toul and Troyes so I decided to overnight in a secluded spot there ahead of time.
The area is named for the Abbey of Trois-Fontaines, which offers guided tours at regularly scheduled times. I drove by it on my way to the wilderness.

I didn't go inside - so what I actually saw was below - it looks Angkor-Wat-esque:

Once it got really foresty, I took a half overgrown side road a few hundred feet, looking for a suitable place to pitch the tent. I was a bit concerned of running over something sharp and popping my tires, but continued nonetheless. I saw a small clearing just 20 feet or so from the sideroad and decided to make it my campsite. After pitching the tent and changing out of my bicycle gear and a quick "wash" using soap and a small amount of water, I ate my food and retired for the night. It was a very peaceful night.
