A very long time ago, I gave "The Runaway Bunny" by Margaret Wise Brown to my then 4-year-old son, Tom. I wrote an inscription that said something like:
To Tom, I hope you like this book. I love you very much. Mommy

A few days later, I discovered that Tom had taken a blue ballpoint pen and with a wobbly hand had drawn a big square on the page. I was angry. "Why did you scribble on your nice new book?" I asked. He explained very reasonably that he had made a box around my words so they wouldn't fall out.
The words are still there as is the love. Good work, Tom Kane.
