I gained custody of my grandson, Nyquawn Butlet, in March, 2004. I am very impressed with the improvements I've seen since he started attending the Head Start Program in December, 2004. He seems more confident in himself, his social skills are more developed, he likes to try to read or he asks me to read to him, his listening skills has improved tremendously, he is learning the basic academics such as numbers, letters, colors, etc.
I have to mention his teacher, Ms. Lisa, at Morgan's Head Start. I wake him up by telling him that Ms. Lisa is waiting for him - it works like magic. Some mornings he is tired but he still wants to go to see Ms. Lisa. I appreciate everything Head Start is doing for my grandson and I hope that many, many more children receive the same opportunity that my grandson has. He is truly getting a head start!
