Hello everyone! My name is Almeta R. Keys, and I am an empowered former Head Start parent. My picture may look a little outdated, but I posted this particular high school graduation picture (Class of "71) as a testament for all Head Start parents and grandparents who think that they cannot go back to school because of their age or length of time that has lapsed since they were in school. I am a firm believer that anyone can obtain their goals if they, believe in themselves work hard at it and let God lead and direct their lives. The rest is history. On December of 2000, I graduated from college along with Fabian, my first Head Start child, who by the way was getting his Masters Degree in Engineering at the time. After winning the 1st NHSA Helen Hollinshed Taylor Memorial Scholarship Award, I have since gone back to school and have received my Masters of Education Degree in Administration and Supervision. Just think, seventeeen years ago, I was a Head Start parent, today, I am the Executive Director of my Head Start program. The sky really is the limit!
